Arctic was born into the frozen, unforgiving world of the Ice Kingdom as a prince, groomed to uphold his tribe's rigid laws. He possessed animus magic, a rare and dangerous gift that let him enchant objects, but he kept it hidden from nearly everyone. His life shattered when he met Foeslayer, a NightWing animus, during a skirmish between their tribes. Despite the ancient hatred between IceWings and NightWings, they fell in love and fled together to the Night Kingdom, where they raised a family.

His marriage to Foeslayer produced two children: Darkstalker, a terrifyingly powerful animus with both IceWing and NightWing traits, and Whiteout, a gentle dragon who saw the world in shimmering, fractured patterns. But Arctic grew increasingly miserable in the Night Kingdom. He felt exiled, isolated, and resentful of his lost status and comfort. He attempted to return to the Ice Kingdom with Whiteout, but Darkstalker—fearing betrayal and wielding his own animus magic—enchanted a bracelet that forced Arctic to obey him. This led to a brutal confrontation where Darkstalker killed his father, a moment that haunted him for centuries.

Arctic's story is a cautionary tale about prejudice, the corrupting pull of power, and the agony of being torn between two worlds. His choices and his death set the stage for Darkstalker's rise and fall, making him a pivotal figure in Pyrrhia's history.
