Vulture was a SandWing who served under Queen Burn during the War of SandWing Succession. He was known for his sharp intellect and manipulative skills, which he used to pick over the remains of the queen's favor like a carrion bird. However, his most significant contribution to the story came through his son, Chameleon, whom he raised in secrecy. Vulture taught Chameleon to be cunning and resourceful, but also instilled in him a deep-seated resentment toward the world—a poison that later fueled Chameleon's villainous actions.

After the war, Vulture vanished from public view, but his influence lingered like a desert heat haze. He was eventually tracked down by the dragonets of destiny and their allies, who sought information about Chameleon's whereabouts. Vulture's lair held clues about his son's dangerous experiments with animus magic and his obsession with power, revealing the dark legacy he had left behind.

Vulture's death came at the claws of Chameleon himself, who killed his father in a fit of rage after being confronted about his past. This act sealed Chameleon's descent into villainy and highlighted the toxic bond between the two dragons.
